WSIB Joint Health and Safety Committee Part 1 (Part One) Certification

Training Session

ACUTE has received Certification from the WSIB (Workplace Safety Insurance Board) to conduct Part One (Part 1) Certification Training for Joint Health and Safety Committees. In order to carry out their responsibilities under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, certified members of Joint Health and Safety Committees must learn how health and safety hazards are recognized, assessed and controlled.

During Part 1 (Part One) Certification students will learn:
  • Health and Safety Law (The Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations)
  • Roles and Responsibilities of the Joint Health and Safety Committee
  • Workplace Hazard Assessment and Control
  • Effective Workplace Inspections
  • Accident Investigation Techniques
  • The 1990 amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Act introduced the requirement for an employer to certify at least one worker representative and one management representative of the Joint Health and Safety Committee. This 3-day course will provide a Joint Health and Safety Committee member with Part 1 (Part One) of the certification process required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
To arrange a training session, please contact our Waterloo offices, or check the schedule of training for an upcoming Part 1 (Part One) Course to be held at our offices.
